GP’s at Ballarto Medical Centre are independent practitioners who have autonomy over their own billing procedures.
All GP’s at BMC will BULK BILL all children under 16 years, as well as ALL Pension and Health Care Card holders.
Some of our Doctors are still Bulk Billing all patients, which means there is no out of pocket cost to you as any payment associated with your consultation is covered by Medicare.
Mixed Billing
Some of our Doctors have transitioned to Mixed Billing, which means that for patients over the age of 16, or without a valid Pension or Health Care Card, your consultation will attract a private fee payable on the day of consultation, for which you will receive a rebate from Medicare. This means there is an out of pocket cost to you.
You will be notified upon booking and again when checking in of any associated costs to expect following your consultation.
When booking online, you are able to identify which GP’s are mixed billing as we have included this information within their title, as well as several prompts upon the online booking process.
Fees can be paid via Credit Card or EFTPOS. Our Reception staff will submit claims to Medicare on your behalf. Medicare typically pays the rebate within 24 hours.
