Dr Tusitha graduated from the University of Sindh, Pakistan in 2000 . He worked in General practice and hospital settings in Sri Lanka for more than 15 years before migrating to Australia in 2016 .
He worked in North East Victoria (Wangaratta) as a rural GP for more than 7 years and was commended for his dedicated service and exceptional patient care by his patients and Staff. He passed his RACGP fellowship in 2021.
Dr Tusitha has more than 22 years’ experience as a doctor both in General Practice and Hospital based settings and has gained extensive training and experience in all major specialities. He is a RACGP accredited GP supervisor and loves teaching.
Dr Tusitha enjoys all areas of General Practice with particular interest in mental health, chronic disease management, men’s health, travel medicine, gastroenterology, hepatology, renal and respiratory conditions. He is always up to date in his knowledge
Dr Tusitha exemplifies a compassionate and patient-centred and holistic approach to healthcare. As a general practitioner, he recognizes the importance of Quality of care and caring for patients from diverse social, cultural, and religious backgrounds. Dr Tusitha is deeply committed to providing equitable and inclusive care, ensuring that every patient feels heard, respected, and supported in their unique needs.
When he is not practicing, Dr Tusitha enjoys travelling, site seeing , listening to music, playing and watching cricket and spending time with family.
In addition to English, Dr Tusitha is very fluent in Sinhalese, and speaks Urdu, Hindi and French.
